More tech jobs for Gwinnett
A fast-growing tech firm is making moves in Gwinnett.
Xiocom Wireless, formerly Tacora Wireless, is relocating to
Gwinnett Center, where it will house its nearly 40,000-square-foot
international headquarters and east regional office.
The firm will use the additional space at Gwinnett Center, at
3505 Koger Blvd., to add primarily white-collar workers, including
engineers in wireless research and development.
As of last year, the firm housed about 30 employees in its former
home at the Quality Data Center building in Suwanee. However,
it now has at least 65 employees and could approach 120 within
the next year, said CEO Jeff Spence.
The company is making a name for itself in the wireless broadband
network industry among larger competitors such as Nortel Networks
Corp. and Cisco Systems Inc.
The private company tripled its year-over-year sales growth in
2007 and expects to do the same in 2008, Spence said.
Xiocom is a nice catch for Atlanta-based Kaufman Realty Group,
which purchased Gwinnett Center in June 2006. Since then, it has
signed 31 leases totaling at least 140,000 square feet of office space.
In the Xiocom transaction, Kirk Rich of Rich Real Estate Services
represented the landlord in the negotiations. David Nash of Nash
Commercial Inc. represented Xiocom.
